Team Europe regained the Laver Cup with a resounding 13-5 victory over Team World at the O2 Arena in London on September 27. Newly crowned US Open champion Alexander Zverev clinched the trophy with a 7-6(3), 6-3 win over Learner Tien, sparing Carlos Alcaraz a deciding singles rubber.
The tie of the weekend came on Saturday when Alcaraz, playing his first event after a four-month wrist injury layoff that cost him Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, saved match point to beat Taylor Fritz 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 in a dramatic deciding tiebreak.
It is Europe's sixth Laver Cup title and revenge for last year's 15-9 defeat in San Francisco. Alex de Minaur briefly put Team World 5-3 ahead on Saturday, but Europe won every match from that point on.
