Real Madrid have entered the race for Jarell Quansah. According to German outlet Bild, the club's hierarchy are tracking the 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender ahead of the coming transfer windows as Jose Mourinho's side confronts a full-blown defensive rebuild — one clean sheet in eight domestic games, despite heavy summer investment at the back.
Quansah's stock has soared since Liverpool sold him to Leverkusen for €35 million in the summer of 2025, fresh off helping England win the Under-21 European Championship. He's since earned his senior England debut against Spain and shown he can slot in at centre-back or right-back. Arsenal saw a €65m bid rejected in August, Xabi Alonso's Chelsea have made enquiries, and his close bond with Jude Bellingham doesn't hurt Madrid's pitch. The wrinkle? Liverpool hold a €70m buy-back clause that stays valid until June 2027.
Leverkusen, with Quansah under contract until 2030, are in no rush to deal. But when Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool all hold a claim on the same defender, there's only one direction this story goes. Keep an eye on January.
