India sealed their three-match T20I Friendship Cup against Afghanistan with a commanding seven-wicket win in the second game in Delhi on September 15. Chasing 160, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma blitzed 88 runs in just 38 balls for the first wicket, taking the contest beyond the visitors early.
Samson was the star, hammering 57 from 22 deliveries with seven fours and four sixes, while Abhishek's 39 came from only 19 balls. Rashid Khan briefly threatened a fightback with three quick wickets, but Ishan Kishan's unbeaten 38 and Tilak Varma saw India home with 31 balls to spare.
Earlier, Nitish Kumar Reddy's 3 for 24 had restricted Afghanistan to 159 for 8 despite Ibrahim Zadran's 37 and a late flurry from Rashid. Captain Shreyas Iyer promised opportunities for the squad players in the final T20I as India eye a whitewash.
